Bollywood Nawab Saif Ali Khan was hospitalized after he got caught in a violent incident at his Bandra home, where the 'Ta Ra Rum Pum' actor was stabbed during a burglary attempt. Now the accused, Shariful Islam, a 30-year-old Bangladeshi national, has been remanded in police custody until January 29, 2025.
According to an NDTV report, a local court in Mumbai extended his custody for five days after police argued they needed more time to gather crucial evidence related to the attack.
The incident occurred on January 16, when an intruder entered Khan's apartment while he was with his family. Saif reportedly confronted the attacker, who stabbed him multiple times before fleeing. Forensic analysis has confirmed that Shariful's fingerprints were found at several locations within Khan's residence, linking him directly to the crime.
Police have been actively investigating the case, recovering a white bag containing tools and a broken knife piece discarded by Shariful near Bandra Talao. They also conducted a reconstruction of the crime scene, which revealed how Shariful gained access to the building and Khan's apartment. He allegedly scaled a wall and used a duct to reach the 11th floor, where the actor resides.

Khan has since recorded his statement with the police, detailing the experience. He described how he rushed to protect his younger son after hearing screams from the nanny, only to be attacked by the intruder. Despite sustaining injuries, Khan managed to push the assailant away, allowing his family to escape.
Following the incident, police are reviewing CCTV footage and have documented Shariful's movements leading up to the attack.

On the work front, he was last seen in the Telugu film 'Devara' starring with Jr NTR and is expected to be working on the 'Race' franchise.
