“It’s a family full of incredibly skilled writers and directors. So, if you are not drawing from them, then you are a bit crazy. I have definitely leaned on all of them for advice. Like, I get tips from Farhan in every aspect. He has definitely mentored me through the whole process of filmmaking, and he has given me a lot of advice along the way,” she says.

‘I will write something for myself where I will be the lead’Shibani also shares that she’d like to be seen on the screen soon. Back in 2014, her special number Hi Poli Saajuk Tupatli from the Marathi film, Timepass had become quite popular. She says, “In this web show, you won’t see me at all. I am working behind the scenes in just jeans and T-shirt, no hair or makeup… just the way I like it. I will write something else for myself where I will be the lead (laughs).”
‘My father-in-law is an incredible storyteller’She loves spending time with her father-in-law, the legendary screenwriter, lyricist and poet,
Javed Akhtar. About the conversations she has with him, Shibani says, “He’s an incredible storyteller and has got many stories from his own life and experiences to share. He is extremely funny and has a great sense of humour. He will keep you entertained and captivated. It’s an incredible experience spending time with him and absorbing all the knowledge and experience that he has.”
