Zubeen Garg is an Indian singer and music director, composer, songwriter and Actor from Jorhat, Assam. He has acquired a cult fame in Assam and East India over the last two-decades as an indigenous rockstar. He is also known as an actor, lyricist, composer, director and poet. His contributions are mostly attributed in Bollywood, Assamese music and Bengali. He plays dhols, guitar, dotora, mandolin, keyboard and various percussion instruments.
Kartik Das Baul is a renowned Baul singer from Gushkara, Shantiniketan in West Bengal. Starting with the Other Festival in December 2001 , in Chennai , Kartik collaborated with Oikyotaan and infused different forms of Baul music into their repertoire. He is a well established performer who has worked with various world music organizations in Japan ,Berlin and the U.S for their festivals .He is the main protagonist in the documentary film, ’Notun Projomner Baul’, or ‘The new generation Baul’, which is the culmination of five years of work with Oikyotaan.
Anweshaa made her presence felt in the Indian music scene at the age of 13 through the reality show Amul STAR Voice of India, Chhote Ustaad. Anweshaa was runner-up in the finals and was the favorite of judges throughout the contest and had the sole distinction of bagging a Sarvottam for all her performance. Anwesha is known for starring in Gajendra Singh's Music ka maha muqqabla at the age of 16. She was hugely applauded in this show for her flawless and rocking performances, which helped her team to the finals. She has also made her debut in commercial playback singing in a Hindi movie Golmaal Returns. Anweshaa has sung the song Tha Karke, which is said to be the most expensive song to ever be shot in Bollywood. Apart from few Bollywood songs, she has sung many Bengali, Tamil & Telugu songs. She also appeared in Coke Studio aside Papon. Along with other awards, she won Best female playback singer award for Bengali song in Tele Cine awards 2011.
