Shoot at Site: Cop Vishnu and journo Shraddha come together to solve a crime in Aaryan

When we landed on the set of Aaryan, a scene between the film’s leads — Vishnu Vishal and Shraddha Srinath — was being filmed. Briefing us about what was being shot, the film’s director, Praveen K shared, “Aaryan is a realistic thriller revolving around a series of murders that happen in Chennai across five nights. Today, we are shooting an interaction between Vishnu and Shraddha.”

I’m playing a cop handling a case while Shraddha’s character is also researching the same one. They meet during the course of their investigations. Selvaraghavan sir and I are involved in a cat-and-mouse game in the film. Every character in Aaryan will have their space and importance. Actually, I told Selva sir, ‘Just like how Gatta Kusthi was in the heroine’s hands, this film is in yours.’
My character, Nayana, is an alpha female: Shraddha Srinath
In Aaryan, I play Nayana, a talk-show host, who is an influential figure in journalistic circles. She is inspiring and hard-hitting and does not shy away from asking tough questions. She has pressure from her bosses to make content that goes viral, but has the gumption that honest content always wins. She is a very alpha female. Vishnu Vishal is excellent both as an actor and producer; it has been a wonderful experience working with him.
I want to do a prequel or sequel for this film: Vishnu Vishal
I'm very confident about Aaryan and it's very close to my heart. This is the most special movie in my career, as it's named after my son. There is a logic and significance behind the title. I also want to do a prequel or sequel for this one because it's not easy to create a world in films. So, the audience will find it engaging if we organically extend the story.

Vishnu and I have been discussing stories for a while and were talking about making a story on a cop’s life. He has already done Ratsasan, so when he plays a cop, it will invariably be compared to that film. But, here, his characterisation is different. He is playing an IPS rank officer. Vishnu's plus is that he always looks at the story as a whole.
