Earlier, last year, Navjot Singh Sidhu stirred controversy after a video surfaced in which he claimed that home remedies played a crucial role in his wife's recovery from breast cancer, seemingly downplaying the significance of scientific treatment.

Sidhu's video has sparked mixed reactions. While many of his followers on X have requested details about his wife's diet, health experts have cautioned against relying on such remedies.

The video's widespread circulation on social media even prompted an unprecedented rebuttal from Tata Memorial Hospital, signed by hundreds of oncologists.

In the recorded video, Sidhu was heard stating that his wife, "started her day with nimbu pani along with 'kacchi haldi', (raw turmeric) garlic, and then neem leaves... then nuts, beetroot, carrot, and amla. After her operation, there was not a single cell of cancer (cyst) detected. These remedies do not require any money."

The statement from Tata Memorial Hospital, bearing signatures of 262 current and former oncologists, declared: "These statements have no high-quality evidence to support them. While research is ongoing for some of these products, there is no clinical data currently to recommend their use as anti-cancer agents."

"We urge the public to not delay their treatment by following unproven remedies, but rather to consult a doctor, preferably a cancer specialist, if they have any symptoms of cancer. Cancer is curable if detected early."

Later, Sidhu emphasised he holds doctors in the highest regard, referring to them as "gods" and clarified that all of his wife’s treatment was carried out under the guidance of medical professionals.

Talking to reporters, Sidhu said he was releasing the diet plan for "Sarbat da Bhala" and will release it on all platforms. However, he said this diet plan was implemented as "sehyogi parkriya" (cooperative process) with the treatment of her wife’s cancer.
