$100 million defamation suit against Logan Paul dissolved: “Parties have entered into a Settlement Agreement”

Following two back-to-back boxing matches of Katie Taylor vs. Amanda Serrano and Oleksandr Usyk vs. Anthony Joshua in 2022, Logan Paul was accused by the sporting events promotion company, Matchroom Boxing, on the grounds that Paul defamed the promotion of bribery. The wrestler accused the promotion of bribing Glenn Feldman, a boxing judge, in an interview with iFL TV. Following years of back and forth, the $100 million defamation lawsuit will no longer move to trial in the court after a claim that all the parties have reached a settlement. The Taylor vs. Serrano 1 ended in a split decision for the Matchroom-signed fighter Katie Taylor, while the Usyk vs. Joshua 2 also ended in a controversial split decision for the flagship fighter of the promotion, Joshua. The controversial decision was left with a remark by Logan Paul in his interview with iFL TV, “clearly [Feldman] was getting paid money by Matchroom Boxing [to score fights in favor of their fighters]”. Logan’s unapologetic statement was met with a legal lawsuit when he refused to take down his comment the very next day. Following the accusation, Logan Paul appealed for a dismissal of the lawsuit, which was denied by a New York judge in September 2024. This led to the arrangement of a settlement conference in December 2024. After a couple of months of deliberation, attorneys of both parties, Paul and Matchroom Boxing, along with Glenn Feldman, presented a notice in court that stated the settlement reached by the parties on March 18 2025. “Plaintiffs Matchroom Boxing Limited (“Matchroom”) and Edward John Hearn (“Hearn”), Plaintiff-Intervenor Glenn Feldman (“Feldman”) (collectively the “Plaintiffs”), and Defendant Jake Paul (“Paul”) (collectively referred to herein as the “Parties”) jointly submit this letter to notify the Court that the Parties have entered into a Settlement Agreement. Pursuant to the terms thereof, the Parties expect to file a Stipulation of Dismissal on or before March 31, 2025.”The court filed its order of the case dismissal on March 31, 2025. The dismissal stated,“It is hereby stipulated and agreed, by the undersigned counsel of record for the parties herein, pursuant to Rule 41(a)(1)(ii) of the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure, that the above-captioned action is dismissed with prejudice and without costs or fees to either party.”Also read: Conor McGregor reacts as protest over proposed migrant centers in Knock Shrine intensifiesDespite the lawsuit in motion, a rematch between Taylor and Serrano was organized in Novermber 2024, which was again won by Taylor. The duo will complete their trilogy fight on July 11, 2025.
