In a heartwarming incident, Christian Gonzalez, New England Patriots cornerback has taken up a cause very close to his heart for the NFL’s initiative My Cause My Cleats. For the 2024 season of the My Cause My Cleats initiative, Christian is partnering up with KylesCare Foundation which is a non profit organisation and helps teenagers and young adults who are dealing with mental health issues.
Christian Gonzalez Reveals The Reason Why He Partnered With KylesCare Foundation
In a video shared by the NFL on X around Christian partnering with KylesCare Foundation, Christian opens up what motivated him to choose this cause. He revealed about his friend Keith Miller who unfortunately has passed away and spoke about how he is partnering with the KylesCare Foundation to honour this friend of his. Christian spoke about how Keith and he literally grew up together and how he was always that one person who would constantly check in with Christian about his own mental health. Christian said, “We grew up together. Being able to carry on his name is something I always wanna do because he was, you know, the first one to ask me how I was doing, the first one, you know, to reach out. This is a way to pay my respects and keep his name living.”
Christian also discussed Keith’s fun and charming personality in details. He spoke about how Keith was always this happy go luck guy, always laughing and having the time of his life. He also added how Keith would react if he got to know Christian has now partnered with KylesCare Foundation as a part of NFL’s My Cause My Cleats initiative. He added, “He is watching. Definitely laughing.” However, at no point did Christian mention what really happened to his friend Keith Miller. Currently, there are no confirmed reports of what happened to Christian;s close friend Keith Miller and how did he pass away.
Christian Gonzales Interacted With Teenagers To Understand Their Struggles With Mental Health
By partnering with KylesCare Foundation, Christian also got a chance to visit local schools and speak to young adults about what are the issues they have in their lives and how they are going through it, fighting with these mental issues everyday. Student advocates belonging to KylesCare Foundation also highlighted the benefits of a renowned player’s name being attached with the KylesCare Foundation as somehow it makes healthy conversations about mental health issues amongst young adults and teenagers across the country a bit more easier.
