For the past few months,
Kevin Owens has been furious with Cody Rhodes, who has made SmackDown a battlefield. When Rhodes was hospitalized as a result of KO's actions during Saturday Night's Main Event, this rivalry reached new heights of intensity. Will The Prizefighter be wearing the blue brand tonight after his vicious attack on the Undisputed Champion?
Last week, the upcoming SmackDown episode was filmed, and the spoilers are now available. In light of what transpired this past Saturday, Owens will not be physically present in the arena to speak to the WWE Universe. The former Universal Champion will, however, appear in a backstage segment of the show.
Will SmackDown Deliver Kevin Owens’ Revenge or His Final Goodbye?
The leaks claim that Kevin Owens will talk about what happened at Saturday Night's Main Event and deliver a fiery promo against Cody Rhodes. Given that the current Undisputed WWE Champion has been sidelined due to injury, he will also discuss his future plans. However, KO will only be seen on screen during his backstage segment tonight. For those who don’t know, Rhodes brought the Winged Eagle Championship, which he exclusively represented for his Undisputed WWE Championship at Saturday Night’s Main Event on December 14, 2024. However, after defeating Kevin Owens, Rhodes reclaimed his Championship. But The Prizefighter pulled an uno reverse on him when he smacked Rhodes down with a piledriver. Ever since Kevin Owens has been asserting his dominance and stealing the coveted title everywhere he goes.
Given his recent behavior, over the past few months, Kevin Owens has emerged as SmackDown’s biggest adversary. Furthermore, considering Cody Rhodes will not return to the ring for an indefinite period of time. So, Owens will have his peace of mind until Rhodes returns. However, one never knows as karma tends to bite back sometime or the other. In the coming weeks,
Randy Orton might surprise everyone by coming back to face The Prizefighter. The Viper might return to SmackDown for KO because of his burning desire for vengeance.
Orton was also criticized by Kevin Owens at the Main Event on Saturday night.
This could be a sign that the Stamford-based promotion will soon welcome The Apex Predator back. The American Nightmare would have some time to recover from his on-screen injury while Rhodes was away, allowing him and Owens to continue their rivalry in the blue brand.
