Vikas Sethi, a well-known actor from the 2000s for his appearances in famous TV shows such as Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, Kahiin To Hoga, and Kasautii Zindagi Kay, died on Sunday, September 8. Vikas was 48 years old and is survived by his wife, Jhanvi Sethi, and twin boys.
According to Telly Chakkar, Vikas passed away in his sleep following a major heart arrest. The bereaved family has yet to publish an official statement regarding his
death.
Vikas was well-known for his roles as supporting characters in some of the most popular daily soap operas of the 2000s. He also appeared in the third season of the dancing reality show Nach Baliye alongside his then-wife, Amita.
Aside from daily operas, Vikas featured in the cult film Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham, where he played Kareena Kapoor's buddy Robbie.
The actor appeared in the 2001 film Deewaanapan, alongside Arjun Rampal and Dia Mirza in the key roles. In 2019, he had a prominent role in the Telugu movie ISmart Shankar.
Suzanne Bernet exclusively shared with ETimes TV, about her bond with the late actor and her reaction to the shocking news, she said, "Vikas was like a friend and once he used to be close to both me and my late husband Akhil. I was shocked to hear the news about his demise, he was fit and fine. He was talented. Since the time I heard about him. I'm praying for him.. and my heart goes out for his mom, wife and twins they are very young."
She further added, "I worked with him in two TV shows Kasautii Zindagi Kay and Sanskaar Lakshmi. Akhil worked with him in Do Dil Bandhe Ek Dori Se and Uttaran. I remember having many conversations and tea during our breaks while we used to shoot, life is so unpredictable. Vikas was a good actor to work with and once upon a time we used to share laughter, tea and love for acting."
