India has launched a scathing attack on Pakistan for spreading 'disinformation' regarding the Indus Waters Treaty at the UN, following its suspension after a deadly terror attack in Pahalgam that killed 26 people on April 22. India's Permanent Representative to the UN, Ambassador Parvathaneni Harish, stated the 65-year-old treaty will remain suspended until Pakistan ends its support for cross-border terrorism. He highlighted Pakistan as a 'global epicentre of terror' and accused it of violating the treaty's spirit through wars and terror attacks. Responding to Pakistan's claim that 'water is life and not a weapon of war', India asserted it has acted responsibly as the upper riparian state and emphasized its commitment to protecting national security and sovereignty. India also called out Pakistan's hypocrisy for speaking on civilian protection and backing terrorists at the same time.
