Watch: Putin’s £275,000 Limousine explodes in Moscow

One of Vladimir Putin’s limousines exploded and caught fire on a Moscow street, prompting increased security checks in the area, reports the Sun.
The incident took place near the FSB secret service headquarters in Lubyanka, involving an Aurus Senat, a £275,000 vehicle from Putin’s official car fleet.
Authorities have not disclosed who was in the car at the time or the cause of the fire. No injuries were reported.

Footage showed the fire starting in the engine before spreading inside the vehicle. Workers from nearby restaurants and bars attempted to assist before emergency services arrived. Thick black smoke was seen coming from the front of the limousine, and additional footage indicated damage to the rear as well.
The explosion comes as security measures in Moscow remain high. Reports suggest that security forces searched sewers and conducted checks on personnel in response to potential threats.
72-year-old Putin regularly uses Russian-made limousines and has gifted similar vehicles to leaders such as North Korea’s Kim Jong Un.
