Alia Bhatt, one of Bollywood’s brightest stars, recently dazzled onlookers at the 78th Cannes Film Festival, where she made her much-anticipated debut. While her flawless red carpet appearances were the talk of the town, Alia has now revealed that behind the scenes, things were far from smooth — especially during the closing ceremony.
Chaos Before the GlamourIn a candid conversation during Vogue’s Last Looks segment, Alia opened up about the chaos that unfolded as she prepared for her second red carpet appearance at Cannes 2025. She admitted that while she was thrilled and excited for her debut, she was also quite nervous. Alia shared that just hours before stepping onto the prestigious red carpet, her team was dealing with an unexpected power outage that lasted for four hours.Despite the setback, the actress maintained her calm and even found humor in the situation, saying, “It’s a bit strange, I don’t know why, but like the chaos always tends to find us.”

Alia credited her resourceful hairstylist, Amit, for saving the day. With no electricity to heat up the hair tools, Amit came up with a creative hack: he placed Alia’s hair extensions on a tong and set it out in the sun so they could warm up naturally.
Alia laughed as she recounted this moment, saying that her team had to figure things out as they went along. Luckily, the electricity returned just in time to finish the look.
A Stunning Fashion StatementAlia made headlines for her second red carpet look — a stunning saree reimagined by Gucci, blending Indian tradition with modern couture. Her ensemble set social media ablaze, with fans and fashion critics alike applauding her unique style statement. The day before, she had turned heads in an ivory-nude Schiaparelli dress for the premiere of The Mastermind.
On the professional front, Alia will soon resume shooting for Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s highly awaited ‘Love & War’, alongside Ranbir Kapoor and Vicky Kaushal.
