Kusha Kapila opens up about Samay Raina's roast and her divorce

Kusha Kapila recently addressed the harsh comments made by Samay Raina on a show. Kusha and Samay, along with other comedians, participated in the show to roast each other. In one episode, Samay targeted Kusha, making remarks about her marriage, divorce from Zorawar Singh Ahluwalia, and even her sex life. Some of these comments were censored by the show, and Kusha has since spoken out about them.
Kusha Kapila took the roast in stride but later discussed it during an AMA session on Instagram.She revealed that she has restricted phrases such as "Samay Raina," "Aashish Solanki," and "dark humor." Kusha also mentioned that she is still processing her divorce and will open up about it someday if she feels it is appropriate.
Kusha said, “Not my first time on the rodeo. In the grand scheme of things, nothing matters. Probably when I have processed all of it, I will speak about it on a level-headed podcast (lol, do we have any?) or maybe never. We will see. This profile continues to be a safe space for my female and queer followers."
Kusha and Zorawar, who married in 2017, announced their separation in 2023. They released a joint statement saying, "We gave it our all, until we couldn’t anymore." The former couple also acknowledged that ending a relationship is heartbreaking and expressed their need for time to heal.
Later that year, Kusha had disclosed that she had been bullied into announcing her divorce. In an interview with India Today Conclave, Kusha revealed that she was pressured into sharing her personal news. She is glad she shared it on her own terms, as she did not want anyone else to disclose information about her life without consulting her first. She was also linked to Arjun Kapoor after announcing her separation.
