Former
NFL legend
LeSean McCoy exclusively admitted in a recent talk that the New York Knicks point guard
Jalen Brunson is a better player than the Golden State Warriors point guard
Stephen Curry. Even though the New York Knicks got eliminated by the Indiana Pacers in the Conference Finals, Brunson put up an impressive performance throughout the season. The player's score went as high as 43 and 36 points in Games 1 and 2 of the conference finals; however, they fell short in the overall score against the team.
Despite an early end to the season run, Stephen Curry managed to rack up an average of 24.5 points
Golden State Warriors point guard Stephen Curry had to end his season run early during the conference semifinals owing to a hamstring injury. The team lost the semifinals eventually to the Minnesota Timberwolves in the Western Conference. Despite the loss, Curry’s average for the 2024-25 season stands at 24.5 points, 4.4 rebounds and 6 assists. Jalen Brunson, on the other hand, with whom LeSean McCoy draws a comparison alongside Curry, has an overall stat of 26 points, 2.9 rebounds and 7.3 assists.
While the average competition is quite neck-to-neck between the two players, NFL star McCoy, in his recent statement, revealed his opinion favoring Brunson over Curry.
“This might not be popular because I'm a Steph Curry fan, but I would say 1 on 1, I think Jalen Brunson scores better than Steph 1 on 1.” The two-time Super Bowl champion believes that the right team would pay off for Brunson to let his skills out completely on the court, “But what I'm saying is, when you got the right team, the structure, now Steph can be Steph.”
Curry, despite his age of 37 and Brunson remained as the best point guards for the entire season. The Warriors point guard, even if he has received several accolades and prestiges throughout his career, Brunson still manages to surpass him, according to the analysts and experts, in one-on-one games.
