Google Pixel 9 leaks in a hands-on video two months ahead of launch
Google's Pixel 9 series will be unveiled at the 'Made by Google' event, scheduled for August 13.
A bright pink version of Google's upcoming Pixel 9 smartphone has been spotted in a leaked video, giving an early glimpse of the upcoming phone. The video surfaced online was shared by X (formerly Twitter) user @hanibioud, approximately six weeks before Google's planned official reveal of the phone.
The brief clip shows someone handling what appears to be a Pixel 9 in a vibrant pink colour.
This matches earlier rumours that mentioned a "Peony" colour option for the new phone. The pink shade is notably more vivid than the colours Google has used for its main Pixel phones in recent years, harking back to the bold orange of the Pixel 4 from 2019.

The leaked phone's design aligns with previous descriptions of the Pixel 9. It features flat sides instead of curved ones, a glossy back, and two cameras housed in an oval-shaped bump. These details correspond with earlier leaked images of the phone, lending credibility to this new video.
The user, who shared the video, claims the phone has 256GB of storage and was found in Algeria, though they didn't explain how it arrived there so far ahead of the official release. The user promised to share more details soon. Google isn't expected to begin selling the Pixel 9 until after its announcement on August 13.
This year, Google is shaking up its usual schedule by unveiling new Pixel phones in August instead of October. The company is rumored to be releasing three Pixel 9 models: a standard version, a small Pro model, and a larger Pro XL. Other anticipated features for the Pixel 9 include a 6.1-inch screen on the standard model, Google's new Tensor G4 chip, Android 15 software, and possible satellite emergency messaging capabilities.
While this leak seems to align with other information about the Pixel 9, it's important to note that it's still not official. We'll have to wait until August 13 to see if Google confirms this eye-catching pink color option and learn about the full range of features and designs for the new Pixel lineup.
