Exclusive - Sachin Sharma on his journey and industry evolution: When people recognise and appreciate our work—that’s the best feeling
Actor Sachin Sharma, known for his performances in Suman Indori and Rabb Se Hai Dua, continues to impress audiences with his grounded personality and passion for the craft. In a candid conversation, the actor opened up about striking a balance between his personal and professional life, dealing with fame, and his evolving aspirations in the entertainment industry.“Honestly, I just love my work. When we’re working, we hardly get any personal time,” Sachin shares. “But I feel getting to work in this industry is a blessing. The fact that people recognise and appreciate our work—that’s the best feeling. The love and respect you receive is beyond words.”For Sachin, fame hasn’t been something to chase, but something to respect. “People give you so much love and respect—it truly feels like a blessing,” he says with humility. Before becoming a full-time actor, Sachin was into martial arts—a passion he still holds close. “Acting gives you a platform to showcase every talent you have. That’s the beauty of it. Whether it's action, drama, or emotion—every bit of you can find expression.”With the entertainment landscape rapidly evolving, Sachin believes the shift is evident. “In the next five years, the industry is going to move more and more toward OTT platforms.
The reach and content freedom there is immense, and it’s changing how stories are told.”While he finds much to admire in the current ecosystem, Sachin maintains a balanced view. “The industry already attracts so many people because it’s dynamic and aspirational. But one change I would welcome is more consistent opportunities for real talent—especially those without godfathers. And secondly, better mental health support systems for actors dealing with pressure.”Sachin’s process for picking roles is simple yet insightful: “For me, the only criteria is whether I’ll get to explore something new as an actor. Growth is key.”When asked about the competitive nature of the entertainment world, Sachin responds with honesty. “Yes, someone’s loss becomes someone’s gain—it’s the reality of the profession. But I believe in focusing on my journey and doing justice to every opportunity I get.”
