Sidharth Sagar, known for his impeccable comic timing on The Kapil Sharma Show, recently opened up about his harrowing battle with addiction. In a candid revelation, he shared, “I have been an addict for 10 years and had to be in rehab 12 times. There’s no treatment in medical science for addiction and your mental state. Without spiritualism, you can’t control your mental state or your addiction.” According to Sidharth, healing is more than medical—it’s deeply spiritual. “There’s no medicine which can cure your inner sadness,” he added, emphasizing that addiction is a disease that requires awareness and inner work. Now on a path of recovery and self-discovery, Sidharth is channeling his experience into a meaningful new project—a podcast focused on healing, connection, and transformation. “This is more than just a conversation about addiction, spirituality, and mental health,” he said. “It’s a movement toward deeper understanding, conscious living, and collective awakening.”Reflecting on his career, Sidharth fondly remembers Comedy Classes as one of his favorite projects. “I enjoyed the teamwork and the love that the team had for the show. It was pure happiness to be there on set,” he shared.Having navigated personal turmoil and professional highs, Sidharth now lives by three core principles: live in the moment, be fully present in whatever you do, and prioritize self-awareness.
“Being human is a wonderful opportunity to grow spiritually,” he believes. From starring in Gangs of Filmistaan to disappearing mysteriously in 2021—an incident that later unfolded at a press conference—Sidharth’s journey has been anything but ordinary. Yet, his story now stands as a beacon of hope, showing that even after the darkest phases, transformation is possible. He has been a part of shows like Comedy Nights Live, Madness Machayenge, Comedy Show and more.
