Malayalam TV is set to unveil a new drama series that promises to tug at the heartstrings of audiences. "Teacheramma," the tale of a successful teacher who struggles with being a failed mother.
The series introduces Saraswathi, a dedicated primary school teacher in her early 50s, played by actress
Sreelekshmi. Saraswathi is highly respected in her profession but finds herself emotionally neglected in her home. Despite her devotion to her career and her students, she faces constant disregard and emotional pain from her own children. Her elder daughter Radha and son Mahesh treat her more as a caretaker and facilitator than as a mother, taking advantage of her unconditional support without offering anything in return. The only solace she finds is in her youngest daughter, Veena, who remains unmarried and close to her, offering emotional comfort in a world that seems increasingly isolating.
"Teacheramma" explores the emotional complexities and sacrifices of working women, especially those who, despite their achievements in their professional lives, struggle to gain recognition or appreciation in their personal lives.
Joining Sreelekshmi in the lead roles are Roshna Thiyyath, Aleena Sajan,
Surjith Purohith, and
Sarath Das, whose performances are sure to bring the characters to life in a way that will leave viewers emotionally engaged and invested in their journeys.
Ahead of the much-anticipated premiere, the makers have released the title song of "Teacheramma," which has already begun to grab attention. Sung by the talented singers PV Preetha and Dr. Muhammed Shakeel, the song encapsulates the essence of the series. With its soulful lyrics and emotive melody, the title track is expected to resonate deeply with viewers, setting the tone for the emotional rollercoaster that the show promises to be.
The series will have its premiere on April 7, 2025, at 8 PM.
