Kottayam: Youth Congress state president Rahul Mamkootathil, MLA, has urged the party's national brass to clear the confusion regarding the change of leadership in Kerala. Speaking to reporters at Pathanamthitta DCC office on Monday, Mamkootathil urged the seniors in the party to show the maturity that the youths in the party were showing. "None of the youths has put the party in a defensive position. Leaders are interested only in becoming the face of news. It is not that the young leaders have nothing to say, but the party does not have the capacity to withstand that criticism also," said Mamkootathil.
The confusion has cropped up within the party at a time when the local body polls are fast approaching. "The leaders should have the awareness that what is coming up is not anganwadi elections. Why is there a confusion about the need for a new president? This will create uncertainty among the leaders and workers," said Mamkootathil.
He also opined that K Sudhakaran was a good leader. "Wherever he goes in Kerala, there will be people to meet him," he said.
