The Thane Municipal Corporation is expediting drain cleaning and infrastructure projects, including the Kasarvadavali flyover, aiming for completion by May 30 to prevent monsoon-related disruptions. The Kasarvadavali flyover is set to open by June 5, diverting outbound traffic and easing congestion on Ghodbunder highway. Authorities are also desilting lakes and plugging sewage outlets to mitigate waterlogging risks.
In the Thane Municipal Corporation area, ten COVID-19 patients have been identified over the past three days, all experiencing mild symptoms and receiving home treatment. Municipal Commissioner Saurabh Rao has directed heightened vigilance in testing, while a 19-bed ward at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Hospital in Kalwa is prepared, and RTPCR testing facilities are operational.
