Mysuru: If the intensity of the rain continues for the next few days, the water level in the Kabini dam is likely to reach its maximum level by the first week of June. The Kabini dam in HD Kote taluk of the district is set to reach its maximum capacity of 19.5tmcft by early June. With over 22,000 cusecs flowing daily from Kerala's Wayanad — where the southwest monsoon gained strength — the dam's current storage crossed 10.6tmcft. Officials expect it to hit full capacity within a week if the inflow continues at this pace.
Meanwhile, the inflow to the KRS dam, near Mysuru, crossed 20,000 cusecs of water. The water level touched 92ft. The inflow to the Hemavathi reservoir in Hassan district touched 17,812 cusecs. Water storage at the dam reached 20.8tmcft against the maximum capacity of 37.1tmcft.
The water level at the Harangi dam in the Kodagu district reached 2,837.4ft against the maximum level of 2,859ft. Harangi dam is receiving 3,431 cusecs of inflow. The water level at the Nugu dam in Mysuru district reached 2,356.2ft against the maximum level of 2,380ft. This reservoir is receiving 3,185 cusecs of inflow.
The water level at Taraka dam touched 2,410.6ft against the maximum level of 2,425ft. The dam is receiving 1,177 cusecs of water.
