Man dies after car hits electricity pole in Bantwal
Mangaluru: A man succumbed to the injuries sustained after the car he was driving hit an electricity pole in the Bantwal Traffic police station limits on Tuesday. The deceased is Jayaram Kumar N. According to police, at 4.30am near Ajjibettu Cross in B Mooda village of Bantwal taluk, a car hit an electricity pole on the roadside. As a result of the accident, Jayaram sustained injuries. Locals admitted him to the Bantwal Taluk Govt Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries. Jayaram is accused of rash and negligent driving. A case has been registered.Two-wheeler rider killed in accidentA two-wheeler rider died in an accident involving a KSRTC bus in Kadaba on Monday. The deceased is Vishwajith,26. According to police, the incident took place near Krishnanagar in Kodimbala village, when the complainant was driving a car and a KSRTC bus came from behind. The bus driver, in a a negligent manner, attempted to overtake the car. While allegedly doing so, the bus went to the extreme right side of the road and collided with an oncoming two-wheeler. The bus then came to a stop on the left side of the road.
Due to the collision, the two-wheeler rider fell on the road. The complainant and the bus driver immediately provided assistance. The injured person was taken to Kadaba Government Hospital and upon examination, the duty doctor declared the person dead. A case has been registered at Kadaba police station.
