'Held me at gunpoint, shaved my head': UP man gives triple talaq for not bearing son

MEERUT: A 35-year-old woman was allegedly tonsured, physically assaulted, humiliated and thrown out of her marital home by her husband after pronouncing triple talaq for not giving birth to a male child. The incident happened in Shaikhan Chowk of Meerut district.According to the police complaint filed by Sheeba, on Thursday, "My husband, Amir, with the help of his aide Mahmood, held me at gunpoint and shaved my head at my in-laws' house two week ago. My husband's family supported the assault on me.""Following the assault, Amir pronounced triple talaq and threw me and my daughter out of the house," Sheeba said.
