NEW DELHI: A Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel was injured on Tuesday in an IED blast triggered by Maoists in Chhattisgarh’s Sukma district, police said.
The incident occurred near a CRPF camp under Jagargunda police station limits, bordering Dantewada district, when a team of security personnel was returning from an area domination and search operation, Dantewada Additional superintendent of police R K Barman said.
Head constable M N Shukla from the CRPF’s 231st battalion inadvertently stepped on a pressure-activated IED, causing the explosion. He was given preliminary treatment and later airlifted to Raipur for further medical care, officials said.
