Actress Sumona Chakravarti, best known for her role on
The Kapil Sharma Show, recently took a break from her hectic schedule to focus on her well-being. She headed to
Bali for a fitness retreat that, in her own words, turned out to be both “fun and transformative.” In an emotional and inspiring note, Sumona reflected on her 15-year-long fitness journey and how this retreat marked a major personal milestone.
“Hello BALI… a fitness retreat to begin with!” Sumona wrote, sharing glimpses of her experience. “It’s been almost 15 years since I first started working out — be it gym, yoga, or pilates. Over the years, the goals kept evolving because a woman’s body is constantly changing. In my case, endometriosis and a shoulder injury played a big part in that journey,” she revealed.
Sumona also thanked her fitness team of nearly three years for adapting her routines and understanding her body's needs. “Whether it’s tweaking my workout routines based on what my body needs or the project — thank you for being such a huge part of my healthy, disciplined life.”
Interestingly, she thought the retreat would be an intense bootcamp, but it turned into a joyful experience. She tried her hand at padel and surfing, activities she had never attempted before. “I surprisingly loved surfing — and I wasn’t bad for a first-timer!”
Opening up about her introverted nature, Sumona admitted that stepping into a group of 45 people, with only a few familiar faces, was daunting.
“But once I took the plunge, it wasn’t nearly as intimidating as I thought. Some of the people I bonded with turned out to be truly amazing.”
The retreat wasn’t just about fitness—it was also about connection, courage, and self-growth.
Sumona is best known for her comic timing on The Kapil Sharma Show. She began her career as a child artist and gained recognition with Bade Achhe Lagte Hain. Over the years, she’s impressed audiences with her versatility in both television and stage performances.
