'Aggressive but smart': SRH coach Simon Helmot lauds balanced approach after RCB win

Sunrisers Hyderabad assistant coach Simon Helmot praised his team’s calculated aggression after their 42-run win over Royal Challengers Bengaluru — RCB’s first away defeat of IPL 2025. Helmot highlighted Ishan Kishan’s “mature innings” and SRH’s ability to “assess the wicket” and post a match-winning total. “We’ll always be aggressive and positive, but also smart,” Helmot said, emphasising their adaptability to different surfaces. He credited Pat Cummins for setting the bowling tone and hailed key moments like a crucial run-out and Eshan Malinga’s over. Despite a few fielding lapses, Helmot called the all-round effort “very solid”.
