Sherwin Rafael Trinidad, a Filipino expatriate and emergency medical technician (EMT) based in Ajman, has won Dh100,000 ($27,225) in The UAE Lottery’s Lucky Chance draw.The UAE Lottery is the first and only official lottery in the United Arab Emirates, regulated by the UAE government and the General Commercial Gaming Regulatory Authority (GCGRA).Trinidad, who has been working in the UAE for the past seven years, shared his story in a video posted by The UAE Lottery on its official social media channels. He explained that his win came from a moment of curiosity sparked by an online advertisement.“I discovered the UAE Lottery in a Google ad. I got interested, created an account, and finally, here I am now,” he said, holding a ceremonial cheque for Dh100,000 ($27,225).
Trinidad used the opportunity to encourage others not to give up on their hopes of winning, especially those who may be feeling disheartened.“For everybody out there: just don't lose hope. I've been there before. I thought I will never win this amount, but yeah, just don't lose hope. Just keep on playing the game,” he advised.The EMT, originally from the Philippines, said that the prize money would go toward fulfilling his long-cherished dreams.
His first goal is to build his dream home and start a business back in his home country.“Definitely, I will build my dream house and dream business in the Philippines. I also want to help other people in need, especially those with medical needs,” he added.His win reflects a growing trend of UAE residents finding fortune through digital lottery platforms, such as The UAE Lottery, which offers jackpot prizes of up to Dh100 million ($27.2 million).
