KOTA: A 23-year-old NEET aspirant from
Delhi was found dead in bushes near the railway track in the Landmark City area under Kunhadi police station early Thursday morning.
The FSL squad, in its initial investigation, suspected it suicide by consuming some poisonous substance; however, no suicide note was recovered from his possession.
This incident marks the second case of suicide within 48 hours in the coaching city and the 12th since January this year.
On Tuesday early morning, an 18-year-old boy from Chhapra in Bihar, also a NEET aspirant, had committed suicide by hanging himself from a ceiling fan in his hostel room in Kunhadi police station area, Kota.
“Body of a 23-year-old youth, later identified as Roshan Sharma, a resident of Tughlakabad in Delhi, was recovered from bushes near the railway track in Landmark City on early Thursday morning,” stated Arvind Bhardwaj, circle inspector at Kunhadi police station. Bystanders spotted the youth near the railway track early morning and informed the police, who rushed to the spot, he added.
The FSL squad called to the spot, in its initial investigation, suspected it suicide by consuming some poisonous substance, but no suicide note was recovered, he added.
Using his mobile, found near the body, police contacted his parents and established his identity, he further said adding the family members informed, on the phone, that they last spoke to him on Wednesday night when Roshan told them that he would neither take the NEET exam nor return home and instead would prefer consuming poison to end his life.
The parents shared that Roshan was pursuing online preparation for NEET and was living in a hostel room in Corol Park under Borekhda police station, about 9–10 kilometres from Landmark City where his body was recovered, the C.I said.
The parents came to Kota a few days ago to take him back home, but he refused to accompany them, following which they took away his bag and baggage, the C.I. added.
It is yet to be investigated how and why he moved from his hostel in Corol Park to Landmark City area.
The police placed the body in the mortuary of MBS hospital for post-mortem to be conducted after arrival of his parents from Delhi.
The deceased youth was scheduled to take the NEET exam next month.
